Maddy is the ninth child in the family and has an older brother and three adopted brothers with Down’s syndrome. She's also the daughter of award-winning pro-life blogger Barbara Curtis, who writes the MommyLife blog, which won the American Life League's Best Overal Pro-Life Blog Award in 2009.
